Getting there from USA, Canada & elsewhere

Corsica doesn’t get many US visitors at the moment, although the number of UK tourists taking a Corsica vacation is increasing rapidly.  The amount of English spoken in the island is also rising fast.

However, there have been a large number of visitors from the USA and Australia to this site recently and we are expecting the numbers of Aussie and American vacationers to Corsica to increase soon - maybe you’ll be the first of your friends to take your vacation here!

The four international airports in Corsica (Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari) don’t take long-haul flights, so if you are travelling from North America or Australia, you will need to break your journey in the UK, France or Italy.

Since I first wrote this page, the options for getting to Corsica from the USA, Canada, Australia and other places outside Europe have become more restricted with the closure of a number of direct flights between the UK and Corsica.  So we recommend the first route you should consider is to fly to Paris, Nice or Lyon with Air France and then get an onward flight to Corsica from France.  Air France offers dozens of flights to Corsica's four airports from all over France, but don't forget that from Nice you can also get a ferry to the island.

If you are planning to break your journey in London rather than somewhere in mainland France, bear in mind that the direct flights between Britain and Corsica (May to early October only) are on Sundays.

If Air France isn't convenient for you, we suggest you check out flights with Virgin Atlantic or your usual transatlantic operator, (or maybe Singapore Airlines if you are travelling from Australia) and plan a break in Paris, London or Nice.  If you fancy doing the last leg of your journey here by sea, you may also  consider travelling to Northern Italy and sailing to Corsica from Livorno, Savona or Genoa using Corsica Ferries or Moby. Another way of starting your holiday plan is to look for flights via  Opodo or .

Finally, how about genuine cultural immersion, private visits, authentic Corsican gastronomy and sightseeing around the island’s most breathtaking landscapes? Kalliste Tours - based in California and founded by France-Marie Louvet, a French/Corsican native who lives both in California and Corsica - specializes exclusively in Corsica and offers luxurious tour packages for 2 to 8 people: fully escorted cultural heritage tours of the island with the expertise that only a native can provide. All is taken care of for you, for a distinctive and intimate experience of Corsica.
