Holiday Checklist: what have we forgotten?

Take a look through this list and see if you have forgotten something.  And if there is something that we have forgotten, please let us know!

1. Passport?

Yes, you do need your passport to travel to Corsica, even though Britain and France are both members of the European Union

2. Medication?

If you take regular medication, take enough for your stay.  Consider taking a supply of your preferred headache and seasickness remedies

3. Driving licence?

You will need your driving licence if you intend to hire a car.  Your car hire provider will advise you on any other requirements (e.g. age limits)

4. Euros?

You can use most debit cards in Corsica, but do consider buying a few euros before you leave - for immediate expenses when you arrive

5. Credit Cards?

Take your credit cards. Not all restaurants accept them, but using them when you can will help you spread the cost of your holiday

6. Taxi to the airport?

Don’t underestimate the time it can take you to get to the airport – especially if your flight is in the early hours of the morning!

7. Airport parking?

If you are leaving your car at the airport, it’s cheaper to book it in advance. A bit of foresight could save you quite a bit of holiday cash!

8. Pre-flight hotel?

If you have an early start (or a late arrival) and a long drive in Corsica when you land, consider staying  in a UK hotel on departure or return

9. Flight/ferry tickets?

Just make sure you take them!  If you are travelling on a “no-ticket” airline, make sure you have a note of the appropriate reference number

10. Travel insurance?

Make sure you are fully covered for loss or damage to your baggage, and for any medical expenses.  Consider buying an annual policy

11. Accommodation voucher?

If you have booked accommodation via our site or through a travel agent, make sure you take the confirmation slip or reference number

12. Camera?

Take a camera so you can remember some of Corsica’s spectacular scenery.  This may be the time to think about switching to digital…

13. Innoculation?

No innoculations are necessary for most British citizens travelling to Corsica, but see “Medication” suggestion above.  See your doctor for confirmation.

14. Mobile phone?

Your mobile phone may not work outside the UK.  Even if it does, expect the call charges to rocket while you're away.  Why not buy a SIM4Travel card?

15. Holiday reading?

Why not buy a book about Corsica to read while you are there – and get the latest book from your favourite novelist while you are online!

16. Pets?

If you haven’t got a pet passport, you will need to consider boarding kennels if there’s nobody at home while you’re away

17. French language course?

If you never learnt French, or if your French is a bit rusty, you should consider taking a French language course before you go

18. French dictionary?

Even if you speak French well, remember that languages evolve – maybe it’s time to buy a new French dictionary to use while you are there

19. Shopping?

Why not do your week’s shopping for the day you come home – now?  Tesco will accept an on-line order up to three weeks ahead!

20. Birthdays?

Don't forget that important birthday or anniversary taking place while you're away!  Amazon has a great selection of gifts - and will gift-wrap & deliver the presents you choose.
