Corsicaholiday.com is the story of a British family who fell in love with Corsica.
The McKeone family, from Eastleigh in Hampshire, first came to Corsica on holiday in 1986. Ever since that time, we have been coming to the island for our holidays and in 2002 we took the step of buying a small apartment in the Balagne.
From the start, Corsicaholiday.com was going to be much more than a travel site. We wanted our visitors to find out about this amazing place rather than just enjoy its beaches and sunshine.
So in 2006, we linked up with Corsica Isula, an established web site about Corsica developed by Will Keyser. After 20 years living in the Balagne, Will had decided to move to the USA and he wanted to leave his site in caring hands.
Mac and John McKeone – a father and son team – now manage both sites, with Mac doing most of the writing and John handling most of the technical stuff. Between them, Corsica Isula and Corsicaholiday are visited by hundreds of people every day, with the numbers peaking at well over 1,000 per day in the early months of the year.
How you can help
The sites are financed entirely by our partners. So, by booking your holidays, flights, hire cars and other services through the links you will find on our sites, you are helping us to keep them going. You can also help by contributing to our discussion group Corsica Lista, by writing to us about your experiences on the island and telling us when we get things wrong. We’re always looking for illustrated articles for our quarterly bulletin, U Bullitinu, which you can receive, free of charge by clicking here.
If you are planning a visit to Corsica, we hope you have a wonderful time here. And even if you are just a curious visitor to our sites, we trust that you find what you want and come away with your vision of our favourite island enhanced and enlarged.
